EJ Coolidge

Afternoon Nature Preschool Teacher

EJ loves nature preschool for its endless opportunities to engage in inquiry at every scale alongside children, from studying the tiniest insect, moss, or mushroom under a magnifying glass to taking in a wide open snowy landscape under a big blue winter sky. They appreciate the chance to tap into their own sense of awe, wonder, and play, and feel lucky that these moments are a core part of their life at work and beyond! They are particularly interested in helping children build understanding and language around their sensory experiences and feelings (the big and the small!) and supporting their growth in risk assessment, problem solving, and communication skills.

EJ holds a BA in History from Macalester College and is currently earning a Graduate Certificate in Early Childhood Education Pedagogy through the University of Colorado Denver.

When not teaching, EJ enjoys going on adventure in the woods, making things with their hands, doing experiments in their garden and kitchen, and sharing the results with loved ones
