Listening  for Spring

The Rainbows made so many incredible observations in the forest this week. They sat quietly and listened for snowfall and bird calls, whispering magical stories of unicorns and cheetahs roaming the woods. We talk about the different songs of chickadees, blue jays, and the tap-tap of woodpeckers.

We were surprised to discover how dry the earth was even as the snow melted around us. Lizard, Juniper, Fish, and Mulberry collect dried pines and dirt along the path while Kingfisher and Cloud cut stems off dried leaves to make one big stew. They add balls of snow as seasoning then trick me by revealing it’s actually pickles!
