Week of the Young Child
The Rainbows celebrated Week of the Young Child with special projects each day. We followed the daily prompts with easy, hands-on learning activities that the children can revisit with their families to encourage exploration of different learning domains at home! The group loved working together and interacting with household materials in new ways.
Music Monday: Lizard and Fish use scoops to fill taped toilet paper rolls with beans, quinoa, and farro. Cloud and Juniper collaborate on a new song with their shakers.
Tasty Tuesday: The group assembles their own healthy snack by spreading sunflower butter on bananas they sliced themselves.
Work Together Wednesday: The Rainbows were excited to take on a community project of trash clean-up around our forest and Theodore Wirth. We use gardening gloves and tongs to safely take care of our environment. (We filled two bags!)
Artsy Thursday: We attempted coffee filter art using markers and spray bottles, though we will have to try again on a less windy day!
