We stayed close to home this week, spending most of our time observing changes in the pond and journaling in the ice house. The group loved watching teenagers play hockey on the pond--it was so fun to see the neighborhood kids out playing and celebrating winter. We got to explore the frozen "Mini Pond" along the trail in Theordore Wirth, wiggling and crawling across the ice. They have decided they want to build our own hockey rink after break!
Hedgehog climbs a branch to get a better view of the teenagers playing hockey on the pond--we stayed here for so long, quietly observing the skaters.
Moose journals in the ice house, telling an elaborate story to go along with his drawings.
The group finds small sticks to use for makeshift hockey on the Mini Pond, sliding and rolling across the snow and ice.
