Find the Pattern

Let's head outside and play a game! We are going to look for leaves of all shapes, sizes and colors. You can take a walk around the block or visit a local park, it doesn't matter where you go as long as there are leaves on the ground for you to collect.

After you have a diverse assortment of fall foliage, try sorting them by color and count how many you have.

 

How many brown leaves?

How many red leaves?

How many orange leaves?

How many yellow leaves?

How many green leaves?

How many rainbow leaves?

Next, you or your grown up can begin a simple pattern. Try to figure out what comes next in the sequence. Explore different pattern combinations such as AB patterns, ABC patterns, AABB patterns, ABB patterns and any other pattern combination you can think of!
