Minneapolis Nature Preschool seeks a teacher to be part of a collaborative team fulfilling the school’s mission of cultivating the innate curiosity and wonder of young children through nature-based education in Minneapolis. Job Description
Minneapolis Nature Preschool staff work together to plan developmentally appropriate activities to meet individual and group goals through facilitating emergent learning. Classes spend 75%-100% of each day outdoors in all seasons. Teachers will lead both large and small groups throughout the week (1:6 teacher/student ratio), following the interests of children and the changing environment.
MNP builds mutually supportive relationships among staff and parents/guardians to foster a positive school community to focus upon the development of children ages 3-5 years of age through nature- and play-based learning.
Minimum qualifications: Must be at least 18 years of age, have a B.A. or B.S., and have teaching experience in Early Childhood Education or a related field. All candidates must pass a criminal background check. Must be able to lift 50 pounds and be able to physically perform the duties of a Lead Teacher.

Minneapolis Nature Preschool prioritizes the enrollment of Northside Minneapolis residents, Black and Indigenous children and families of color, as well as LGBTQ2S+ identified families, as an action step to ensuring accessible early childhood educational opportunities for communities that have been historically and systemically erased, excluded, and forcibly removed from nature spaces.
Pay: $21-$25 per hour
Term: 2026-2027 School year (mid-August through May) - with limited opportunities for summer employment.
Benefits: Paid holidays, paid sick leave, and $500 towards professional development.
